By Danielle Wilson

The Lord Mayor of Liverpool’s Gala Concert is coming to St. George’s Hall next month.

The event will celebrate “a golden era of music and laughter as we remember the songs and stars of the ‘fabulous fifties’ and ‘swinging sixties’!”

This year, the event will be supporting three local charities through the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal: Everton in the Community, The Michael Causer Foundation and The Merchant Navy Association Liverpool.

Entertainers Andy Eastwood and Pete Lindup accompanied by the David Carter Band will be performing classic rock n roll, as well as music from comedy duo, Morecambe and Wise.

Singer Maggie O’Hara will also pay tribute to  The Seekers and Connie Francis, and also performing some of Doris Day’s hits. Alongside these musicians is special guest star Lonnie Donegan Jnr who will be performing his father, legendary King of Skiffle’s influential music.
