The BBC 6 Music Festival has had it’s Liverpool debut.

The annual festival featured performances from a variety of 6 Music favourites including Anna Calvi, Hot Chip, Fontaines D.C and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.

Three venues across the city hosted the event, with sell out performances taking place each day and night.

BBC 6 decided to bring the festival to Liverpool for the first time this year, after it was hosted in Belfast last year.

Regarding the choice to have the festival in Liverpool, Paul Rodgers, Head of 6 Music, said: “Liverpool has a marvellous musical heritage and will be a perfect host city for the 6 Music Festival 2019, which will feature a great range of artists from Liverpool and beyond.”

The festival is the first of many for Liverpool this year, including Sound City, LIMF,  Africa Oyé  and Fusion.
